thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a wonderful American tradition that keeps me (us) in line…remembering that we are blessed. I’m thankful for the stuffing, the potatoes, and the family that means more to me than it ever has. I’m thankful for the hyper kids doped up on sugar screaming and laughing through the house. I’m thankful for the football tuned in by half awake, half asleep family members. I’m thankful for the overheard conversations of the women, chatting about the great sales and funny stories. I’m thankful for the kindness and the warmth. I’m thankful for the fire-pit at my parents and the quiet time spent around it. I’m thankful for the drive to the hardware store with my father….the silent drive made so much sense. I’m thankful that my daughter fell asleep on the way home so that I had some time alone with my dear. I’m thankful for the beautiful mustang that zipped past me on the way home with a license plate that read ‘I’m Free’.
